about

Ecstasy : this drug always felt to me as the beginning of a mushroom trip, but without the astral projection, rebirth and dying stuff. For some reason (the tremolo guitar I think) this original is linked in my mind with Etienne Daho's cover of Edith Piaf's "Mon Manège à Moi". But at the end of the song it's like there's a rave underneath and all I want is to be lost in that particular moment, possibly drunk, kissing the love of my life at a super-heroine themed costume party forever.

Swinging : strange religious tracts and libraries are a turn on for me, not manifestos. The lyrics might sound a bit dramatic (planets crashed, world goes nova, sun explodes, all goes black) but try to write a better chorus than that.

Moon : "...in a hundred years / I'll be right back here / with the Dreaming Moon." This song is the echo to what is commonly called a paranormal experience (this is what happens when listening to songs on repeat while spending too much time on your own, sleep deprived) and will stay as a vortex I may revisit when I'm dead to choose (or remember) other paths like in "Life is a circle, crossing a circle, in a circle, we just remember who we are and who we love along the way". Putting quotation marks not to alert anyone.

Cuckoo : i knew that dating in 2020, for a transwoman, would be difficult but I've never anticipated that being a Gemini sun and a Scorpio rising, apparently, was a fucking red flag.

Love : i've found a nice way to play it with my weird tuning since (and breathe correctly) but nobody is going to believe me.

Powers : Possibly the song I've listened to the most in my life with David Bowie's "Heroes" and I sure did way better versions of "Strange Powers" in the past, I swear, with my band and with my Roland CR-78. But that record was a one-time thing.
